Did you know… In Las Vegas there are more Catholic churches than casinos. Not surprisingly, some worshippers at Sunday mass will give casino chips rather than cash when the basket it passed. Since they get chips from many different casinos, the diocese devised a method to collect the offerings. Each parish sends their collected chips to a local Franciscan monastery for sorting, and then the chips are taken to the casinos to cash in. This important work is performed by the chip monks.

A rather straight laced friend of mine went to Vegas for a work thing. On the sidewalk asked a young "lady"for directions to a church and a library. She said "Man, we don't have those here".
