the filtering is implemented within the ES9038Q2M, they should be very similar to the DX7s result
The measurements for the filter MODE5 in DX7s also raise doubts: theoretically the best, its looks far from being so on the background of the rest filters.

Can you be more specific? What's wrong with the DX7s results?

Very strange "waves" on the chart at frequencies above 65 kilohertz, with values above -110 dB.

You can hear that?

People ussualy do not hear frequencies above 20kHz. And amplifiers and speakers also do not have problems with such frequencies on the input :)

No surprise, google the ESS datasheet and find what filter 5 looks like. I won't post the link directly as it is confidential.

The ESS data sheet is secret??

It's enough that I see that. "PCM Filter Characteristics (Linear Phase Fast Roll Off) - Stop band < –120dB" - this in your opinion corresponds to the graph?

If it is inaudible I can't see that it matters. You can enlighten me, though.

Looks like a graph with values BELOW -120 dB, which is not the same thing.
Because Amir's graphs are for an actual device with an output stage after the DAC. The graphs in the datasheet are just for the filter itself.

You're arguing/concerned about something that's not a problem at all. RIP credibility.

I was not following this thread but now I understand all the confusions.
[1] Archimago's TEAC UD-501 doesn't use ES9038Q2M. Their filter types are arranged in different ways.
[2] Archimago's filter tests are intersample clipped, probably Amir's Topping D50 as well. Archimago realized it later and all of his newer "Digital Filter Composite" graphs contain white noise at both 0dBFS and -4dBFS. For example:
