Just the facts…
14X15 room
high vaulted ceiling
stereo setup with subwoofer and hopefully a buckeye amp soon
listen to every genre of music except baby shark

Now I want speakers and just figured this was the place to get some feedback. I have 3 choices but cannot listen unless I order them online. I really don’t feel like ordering all 3 as this is my last $600 to my name (hence the title)

So if you were in my shoes which would you buy and WHY?

1. ELAC - Debut Reference DBR62
2. ELAC Uni-Fi 2.0 UB52
3. KEF Q350

Thanks for any and all input.

I'd be curious about the upcoming Uni-Fi Reference if I were considering the Uni-Fi 2.0. Just a heads up.

Thanks for input. Is that some sort of hybrid model being released?

Fair enough. Just wanted to take the “order all 3 and keep the 1 you like” response out of the equation.
Objective performance is very clearly best with the DBR62 by my interpretation. It is outstanding for the price.

I am a big fan of Focal, so I might just get the Focal Chora 605 for $350 from Upscale Audio and call it a day.

Based on what Elac did with the Debut Reference vs the previous Debut range of products; I imagine it will be their top of the line iteration of the three way coaxial Uni-Fi series. Hopefully their best version that improves on the shortcomings of the previous generations.

They should be sealed speakers. Oh wait, it’s not on a deserted island?

Anyway, what about the new Wharfedale Diamond 12 series? 12.2 is $499 ?
Would love to see them measured.
Otherwise I’ve only heard the Elac DBR62s and would pick them.

Ub52 since I wouldn't use any of these in a living room setup. But the coaxial 3 way would be a decent nearfielf speaker once equalized given its good vertical directivity.

Which of the three do you prefer? Personally none appeal.

If I was down to $600 I sure wouldn't spend it on a couple of speakers.

Agreed, but priorities are often different(and change over time). My first place I rented in college, I couldn't afford furniture(bean bags to the rescue), but I purchased a nice set of speakers(Infinity Beta 20) along with a big screen TV . Priorities have changed since then, but those were the days :).
