Someone should measure the stock power supply for the WiiM pro to se how much noise it puts out on the main grid ( If any ).
Already did quite a few times, even if I don't have the data on hands (nor the WiiM Pro Plus itself, for what matters). The difference between the stock PSU, a powerbank/battery or whatever phone charger is completely negligeable and absolutely nothing to write home about, IMHO. How it has been visible? In my case, a bit of hum @50Hz (domestic), mainly, or @100Hz. Kept way below thresholds of hearing. At the end of the day, it only affected final SINAD number by 0.1 to 0.3dB (depending on runs).

That will be all for me. Honestly, I'm done with this product. The WiiM Pro Plus is indeed an excellent streamer, regarding both features and objective performance, especially considering its price point. It sure wasn't textbook perfect, but WiiM did their homework correctly by fixing most issues @onlyoneme and I observed before the final commercialisation. Case closed, as far as I'm concerned.

Cheers. ;)

Onlyoneme , I know you have the S-Booster supply and I wonder how such powersupply measures ?

You never give up ;)

Short comparison of stock WiiM Pro Plus charger, Apple one (fully differential this time, no cheating) and Sbooster, 1 MHz BW to get rid off noise above main switching frequencies, FFT to 100 kHz, 350 mA load.

And the same Y-axis scale.

Thanks :)
S-booster measures very well. I guess I have to try a good linear powersupply.

Very interesting subjective review of all three WiiM devices, using the digital output to an Eversolo dmp A6 used as dac .

This guys results is :

1. WiiM pro and WiiM pro+ is of highend quality used as digital bridges to an external dac. The Eversolo dmp A6 used as a digital bridge sounds exactly the same , not better , not worse. This is tested with the stock power supply for the WiiMs.

2. WiiM mini is audible worse sounding used as a digital bridge to an external dac. A surprise for me. But it has more jitter than WiiM pro and pro+ as one can see with Onlyoneme:s mesurements.

Why is it a surprise? As far as I can tell, he followed a methodology that is sighted and entirely subjective, and is providing his own anecdotal impressions, and that he would never be able to back up his impressions if he actually did a valid and unsighted test. I will admit, I didn't watch the entire video, just tried to figure out if he is pulling our leg, seems like he isn't conducting a serious review though. Do you really believe these YouTube impressions that you post? Are you going to try to conduct a proper test of these devices?

Just to get a summary of this discussion...Is the WiiM Pro transparent to human ears with both power supplies?

Yes, do not worry about the power supply. The discussion above is a distraction, based on incorrect assumptions, and misinterpretation of the data.

Also, a linear power supply is a waste of money.

In general, you should be very skeptical of claims that a power supply will change the sound of a properly designed device. If it does, the device is most likely the issue and should be replaced. Fortunately that isn’t the case with these WiiM devices.

Thanks, works for me (literally) Lol! I have my WiiM pro with standard power going directly into the WISA hub of my powered Buchardt A10, don't hear any issues so far. Although a "subjective" reviewer I like a bit said a $5000 streamer makes them sing! :(

Because there's no issue to be heard at all. ;)
Especially in the digital domain: really none.

A good advice would be to stop listening to him, then. :p

Yeah. You have a very nice setup. Please enjoy your music! These subjectivist reviews are pure mentalist trick, designed in inflict doubt, and drag you down a rabbit hole of bad (and potentially expensive) HiFi choices. OP has fallen bait, hook, and sinker for these snake-oil claims and is just reposting them here at ASR.

Well at least you get a song & dance for 5 Large. They just toss in a DAC as a free gift with your donation. Like getting a toaster for opening a Bank Account. I may have just dated myself but it won’t be a blind date…:D
