This is a fascinating book, wonderfully written, making complex, cutting-edge science understandable to the general reader. Entertaining as well as informative. Highly recommended.

Two things in process here.

A bit early to tell, but probably not recommended.

Quite dry, making the brevity all the more appreciated.

Two books on the go at the moment, both fascinating in their own way. I’m not far enough in to either yet to give a full recommendation, but both are promising. I’ll let you know.

Writers from across disciplines and countries, including Paul Mason, Pankaj Mishra, Slavoj Zizek, Zygmunt Bauman, Arjun Appadurai, Wolfgang Streeck and Eva Illouz, grapple with our current predicament, framing it in a broader historical context, discussing possible future trajectories and considering ways that we might combat this reactionary turn.

An insightful, thought-provoking read that I am currently enjoying. Highly recommended.

Everyone's favourite Youtuber goes metaphysical. Rather good actually.

Rereading this Hofstadter renonates with me better than first time around.

Piketty says some very sensible things. Sadly, little of it has much chance of becoming reality in my lifetime ...
