This so awesome that I just have to share:

War Cloud - Give'r [Live Session in Europe]

Montreux draws the best performers at their best. The audience and musicians have great expectations of one another.

The festival made great recordings of the performances. A long time ago, 1969, Les McCann and Eddie Harris made a favorite performance released as Swiss Movement. McCann passed in 2023. In this recording he would be about 34.

The lead track, Compared to What, to my ear, has McCann leading in many parts, with the drums and Leroy Vinegar on bass accompanying, and the brass playing around the time. McCann lays back for other performer solos. To me, McCann masters the piano, driving, relaxing, and letting it ring, and at the same time singing for bars, live. It's one of my all time favorite recordings.

This is perfect early morning music, the Tunesian jazz-oud player Anouar Brahem. He plays the Oud, an ancestor of the Lute and the guitar, and going back 5000 years to the Sumerian times in the middle east and brought it to a jazz setting in the 1980's. He is also one of the best and by far the most known player of that instrument. Here he is playing live in "La Philharmonie de Paris" in 2018 with his quartet and is a regular guest on European stages.

I will be listening to my Klipsch Speakers, watching Top Gun "Maverick," in about 2 hours.
