I'm listening to the Grateful Dead live at the Warfield Theater 02-17-1982 ( I like to live in the past ). It is a field recording from the front of the loge dead center. With headphones and speakers simultaneously, I'm transported back there. I was at this show. Front row dead center in the pit. Right in front of Bob Weir (stage center).

I've been suspicious of posthumous duet recordings ever since Kenny "G" desecrated the legacy of Louis Armstrong, but this one was too much fun to resent.

Everytime I get a notification for a new post in this thread, I remember to change-over to my SXM, to see what they are playing on either XMU or AltNation.
The latter just segued from ImagineDragons ("EyesClosed") to GlassAnimals ("Creatures in Heaven").

A long time ago I was privileged to record opera singers. So I listen to voice recordings. I cannot imagine what it takes live shows to produce release quality tracks. Well Saturday Night Live produced great tracks from Billie Eilish.

These shows exist between studio recordings, very clean and redone as needed, and concerts with a lot of ambient noise. I would expect top guest artists bring their own microphone, vocal mush processing, and their own live engineer. There are several new microphones out to compete with standard Shure. I have experience with many vocal microphones in the studio and on stage. Whatever used here is excellent and wireless too.
