No sex please, we're British.
About as simple as it gets.
You Brits and your humor. Lol.
Well, that model guy... umm... Fabio... had a rather famous stereo system.Thought to post some picture so I googled,"sexy men and hifi"
Ha ha, you villain,... you cut off where I wrote:Well, that model guy... umm... Fabio... had a rather famous stereo system.
Not that there's anything wrong with that!
Fabio's $500,000+ Stereo System
Was watching an interview with tonemeister Dweezil Zappa and he mentioned Fabio (yes, that Fabio) having the most amazing stereo system he'd ever seen, worth over a half million, etc. So I decided to Google it for fun. I have to admit, this won me over. Tom Green shows it in a house tour below...www.3daudioinc.comFabio's System - 1995
Who is Fabio? Well, look him up. He's recently done some fun Old Spice commercials. But, he's also an audio enthusiast, like us, but with more money than (most of) us. Here's a reprint from Audio Video Interiors, November 1995, which, miraculously, was not chewed up by the Florida Palmetto...www.martinloganowners.com
And... I mean... in another time's forgotten space... Rod the Mod did have the Rodspeaker(s).
and he had a hit called Do Ya Think I'm Sexy... so, if we apply a little syllogism...
Personally, though... this is more my style...
Unfair to the women who read this thread. They have no eye candy.Thought to post some picture so I googled,"sexy men and hifi", but I could not find anything. Found this but even I who do not lie in that direction and turn on to men realize that this may not be what women, in general, consider to be so sexy.
However, surely those gentlemen at that event hade a good time.
A photo I found. Unfortunately lost the link. Some flea market, vintage, hifi fair something, somewhere.

Edit:
Although the women probably thought that Frank Sinatra was a sexy guy:

Celebrity Hi-Fi Systems: Frank Sinatra, Haruki Murakami, Magic Johnson, and more… | In Sheeps Clothing
Celebrity sound systems featuring Garrard, Tannoy, McIntosh, Thorens, and custom hi-fi equipment. And as humans, famous people have a multitude of curiosities and...insheepsclothinghifi.com
Yup, and apparently Sinatra was into Buddhist statues. Who knew...Sinatra did have a bitchen hifi, too.
Yes, the Seinfeldian reference was, of course, most deliberate. I felt a little weird googling "famous long haired male model 1990s hifi system" -- and I felt even a little weirder clicking on some of the results. But I did find Fabio (I'd forgotten his name). The things I do for science and scholarship.
I'd rather listen to the Rodspeakers, though.
Oh, and -- I'd have felt even weirder if Mrs. H had peered over my shoulder while I was perusing a google image search of buff, hirsute male models.
Google will never be thinkin' of me the same way again, algorithmically speaking, I reckon.

you may well be right!Considering the world in which we live today and the way the algorithms are used, I'd say that's a very good thing! Jim

But... but... that's not Dieter Rams!I agree with your style. That Dieter Ram, Braun system was at that time, really my dream

The distaff side
I hope that it isn't impolite to ask if any members reflect my position of not having met any females who were interested in HiFi? Music, certainly, but not the artificial way to listen to it best.audiosciencereview.com
Damn what I get the urge to go to some fun Hifi fair when I look at those pictures.
I feel compelled to expand on the note in that ad, noting that there's a whole book(let)...
Is this one promoting, Jazz, wine, cigarettes, reading poetry or turntables.

It is as it is, old farts. I'm starting to be one myself. You can make an exception then. Before you go to the fair, you can wash yourself, because Not that there's anything wrong with that!... and hang out with some middle-aged-to-old, paunchy, balding, mostly bespectacled, mostly white guys with questionable personal hygiene practices and a stunted sense of fashion?
I really, truly do enjoy, appreciate, and admire Holger Barske's photography (not just of hifi esoterica, either) -- but his ETF* and other hifi shindig photo sets all seem to look so cold, my fingertips get numb just looking at 'em!

The image above is not a modernist oil painting. It's an airport x-ray of my friend Jeffrey Jackson's backpack. Can you identify its contents?
