Using main + sub and let the main roll off naturally without lower filter

Hi all,

I am having a question about using main + sub and let the main roll off naturally without lower filter. I agree that normally we would not want that as we want our main to be free from low bass freq to improve dynamism.

However, I am wandering if our main is super good at dynamism (Ex: JBL 4367 or Kef BLade 2 meta), should we let the main roll off naturally and pair with 1 single sub so that we can theoratically have 2 subs to leverage the advantages of having 2 subs?

I don’t know that a speaker's sensitivity rating has anything to do with it. Generally, you want the bass rolled out of the main speakers, unless they are large ones with substantial bass output.

hm. i have towers that go low paired with 2 subs and cross them over just before they roll off, like 50. blends in nicely. it seems to work fine for me. the subs add a bit of soundstage and more extension, maybe.
