Upgrade D30+Atom to E30+L30?

Why are people combining the topping with the atom amp? Is the JDS atom dac bad? (debating to buy it for PS5)

The JDS Labs Atom DAC is very nice especially for the budget category and the Topping E30 USB DAC includes additional inputs, a front display some people find helpful and a remote control for an additional ~$30.00 USD.

My Loxjie P20 has a front display and a digital volume control. It is great! I can adjust the volume to exactly -33 dB! (for example)
It is much better than the Atom old analog potentiometer.
