Print through is a problem with open reel analog tape, but can be reduced by not using very thin base tapes (0.5 mil and 1 mil), and by always storing tapes tails-out which places the print through signal behind the audio, not in front of it. 1/4 track tapes have a problem with signal bleed through from the reverse tracks (which play backwards). This is just a consequence of this consumer format, and it can only be reduced to its mimimum by careful head alignment but it can never be eliminated.
