Hummmm, could read about the Topping P5 "circuit uses multi novel optimization" They probably meant "Level" ??
I am not sure Topping has created the chip... They are probably using the Merus (multi level chip) chip or another existing chip...

Lets read the user Manual if we find something :)

I see nothing regarding the chip manufacture other than a picture of it with Topping written on it. I suppose you could try and match specs if you think it’s an already released chip.

It's better to wait for more information, but I couldn't stand it and ordered it from the Aoshida HiFi Store.
However, it seems that the products will not be shipped until December.

only SINAD fanatics imo would find this product to be competitively priced or worth the purchase.

1kHz SINAD fanatics at that.

If we have ~20uV of noise (A-WTD with a 20kHz AES brickwall) with respect to the usable 50W@4R we have a 117dB S/N.

Not only 1kHz, it is excellent in all audible range.

The 20kHz AES A-WTD filter is knocking off all the harmonics. It doesn't drop at 6.5k in reality. Not only that, the HF noise kills the wideband THD vs Frq.

Audiophonics announced the Topping PA5 :

Output power2x140W @ 4Ω, THD+N < 10%
2x125W @ 4Ω, THD+N < 1%
2x85W @ 8Ω, THD+N < 10%
2x65W @ 8Ω, THD+N < 1%

Oh come on! 1% and 10% THD figures? Hilarious. You cannot be serious.

There's like a thousand amplifier designers and engineers turning in their collective graves.

Rate you gear properly or not at all.

Excuse my ignorance and bad English.

Your opinion

Could this amplifier replace an old nad c 320 bee (at least from the specifications)?

For power and especially in quality

I wouldn't want to make it worse

Thank you very much

No.

The NAD has 7 inputs, two tape loops, a phono stage, loopable pre/main jumpers, remote control, bass, treble, balance, headphone socket and considerably more dynamic power on tap.

It's not even a fair comparison. Keep your NAD.

They only show frequency response into 4ohm load. Neither 8ohm load response, nor complex dummy load response. They probably know why they show only 4ohm plot.
Now look at the THD+N vs power plot into 8 ohm. It is good up to 50W but then there is a sharp knee and at 70W they have suddenly 1% distortion. I can tell you why - because noise floor bottom accelarates with rocket speed. Increasing power one looses usable dynamic range quickly. But Topping is a fetish product here, so it will be adored.

Again, audible. Harmonics of 6.67 kHz are already inaudible. That is a real world THD+N graph of what we hear, not lab exercise irrelevant to the end user.
