All I can do is enter the "DFU MODE"
Tried updating firmware (v1.88) in "DFU MODE" but nothing works...
Anyone have any tips before I start crying?

Have you tried leaving it unplugged a few hours? Or maybe an earlier version of the firmware, can always update it from there. I'd just leave it unplugged for a while and a restart.

Yes. Unplugged it the whole night. Earlier version didn't work also. Thank you for helping.
I found that too on topping support site, but what is the correct procedure to "upgrade the correct firmware directly."
I cannot find that info. Thank you for helping.

When I run the update :

"Device opened.
Ready for firmware update.

Entering upgrade mode...
Upgrading firmware...
172544 of 172544 bytes transferred.
Starting firmware...

Firmware upgrade finished successfully."

But the DAC does not respond and keeps displaying "incorrect FW ver" every time I try it (or keeps displaying "DFU MODE" when I install the firmware in DFU mode).
Thank you for helping.

That's bad.Did you,unplug it,plug it back after the upgrade?
There's either some other trick that does it or as you say in your first post you can start crying.
(or return it? )

Wait until company awnsers,let's see...

Yes. Unplugged it, waited, and plugged it in. No difference.
I'm still waiting on topping support and @JohnYang1997 here on the forum.
Thank you.

I would not wait, I would return it right now. Because @JohnYang1997 was not visible for around a half year before he started a new thread.

Silly question but the model is correct, right?
Are you sure you didn't try to make a firmware update with a wrong file (some other model's) in the past?
Cause that bricks it and would be an explanation.

It sucks when the procedure is not automated by the company, that's a responsibility no user should have.

Or the boot loader is corrupted and can’t load the right firmware anymore. In good implementations the bootloader has a one from three selection.

I'm 110% sure I used all the correct firmware/driver versions for the Topping D90SE.
Used it every day without any issues.
It started to show the error right after a power outage.
Thank you for replying.

This is what I am saying. The power outage can trigger something you saw, if the boot loader is not implemented well. It’s more costly and needs more experience to write a bulletproof boot loader.

Hope so too.
Will do.
There was someone on the forum with kind of the same problem, with a D90LE, but got fixed by sending it to China. He said "they fixed it and sent it back in a reasonable amount of time." (I asked via PM).
