Sommer Cable, Lapp Cable for DIY connections recommendation

Hello everyone,

for a long time i have been using meterware from the companies Sommer Cable and Lapp to build my audio connections. Since I haven't found any mention of these companies here yet, I just wanted to make a quick recommendation (disclaimer: i have no whatsoever relationship with them, just a satisfied customer). Sommer produces cables for sound reinforcement and studio technology, and Lapp for industrial application, i.e. no-nonsense products for professional use at a reasonable price.

For all analog connections I mostly use this one:

I also use Sommer, love it!
I can confirm that they are great and among the bests regarding price/value ratio

I also tried the Ölflex Classic for speakers but for me the Sommer Orbit sounded better (correction: I think it sounded better)

I don't think there a "sound differences" in cables as long they are specified and well made for the kind of application. And the Sommer Cable meterware fulfills this very nicely.

I am very happy with the mentioned ~3.- €/m solutions to get transparent, undisturbed and lossless signal transfer even at greater cable lenght (sturdy connectors e.g. Neutriks with reliable contacts are often more expensive than the wiring...).

For my last DIY speaker cables I took the shielded Ölflex 110 CY with 12 x 0,5 mm² cross-wired to keep the inductivity low. This is already pretty overengineered and I heard no difference to the blissfull, cheapo 2,5mm² used initially after finalizing my last speakers, but it was < 50€ for 2x 3m harness incl. hollow banana connectors and shrink tubes, so why not and never think about it again - looks nice and professional also
