Thanks! Custom Dunable Yeti Bass VI 30.5" scale tuned an octave down from standard
Ah, okay. I'm a big fan of blacked out everything on guitars. The volume knob (?) with the silver is a nice touch.

Slightly off topic, I picked up a Peavey Studio Pro 50 for $60 a few days ago, and absolutely love how it sounds. "Vintage" solid state from either late 80s, maybe early 90s, have to check out a Peavey serial number lookup.

My latest, umm, creation. A somewhat experimental guitar based on a DiMauro Gypsy body shape but more or less traditionally X-braced. 648 mm (25.5"") scale with compensated nut and saddle, Yew (taxus baccata) back and sides, Walnut neck and head/tail blocks, Caucasian spuce top, Olive wood rosette and fumed oak bridge. Stauffer style adjustable neck joint. This has been far too long under construction but now it's finished at last – well, at least it has strings on ... ;-)

Looks great. Let us know how it performs once you have it completely finished.

Thanks!

I can already confirm it sounds unmistakeably like a guitar ... ;-)

It's pretty loud and very dry – actually surprisingly gypsy-like which wasn't really the intention but that's the fun of throwing a bunch of unknown variables in the mix and seeing what happens ...

View attachment 375164A real pleasure to add this one to my collection a couple months back. Really a thing of beauty.

We need more G&Ls here ;-)

... and ASAT Special are my favorite. US model on the left, and a backup from Tribute series on the right.
The US model is quite a bit better, tone is more refined and solid, and it's a beefy rock guitar for sure, Telecaster on steroids as they say...
Those pickups are really loud and clear.

Same pickups on both, iirc, right?

As far as I can see, yes. I suspect most of the (small) sound differences come from the necks, the Tribute neck is much softer and flexes (which is not a bad thing for my playing style).

Then we have this:

G&L L-1500. Simply the best bass I've ever owned. It has some "fat magic" that makes you play on and on... and completely different to similar looking Stingrays.

Travis Bean Designs Steve Albini Signature

It's a hand-built guitar by a guy named Kevin who is the owner of Electric Guitar Company (EGC). The firm used to be in Florida but I think he has relocated to another state.

Anyway, it is an aluminum neck guitar and the neck goes through the whole body with both the pickups and the stall mounted directly to the same piece of aluminum, this makes the tones sustain a bit longer than from a normal wooden neck guitar. It doesn't need a truss rod as it stays the same no matter the temperature shifts, which is good.

This is a special guitar for me as I’m a big fan of Steve Albini, his bands, his way of thinking, and the way he recorded music. R.I.P

I've got a bunch - but my favorite is my custom Equilibrium FT 6. These are the builder photos.

Black limba body, 5A quilt maple top, Macassar ebony board, wenge/flamed maple neck. Hipshot HM bridge and locking tuners, V/V/T and 3 way with a custom switch tip, Bareknuckle Ragnarok (B) and Cold Sweat (N).

Getting the house ready for Milton, apologies for the picture. Modest Schecter bass, NOS Steinberger from Japan, and a Chapman stick.
I was fortunate to buy the Stick from Emmet Chapman back in the day and chat with the man himself.

Best of luck if you're exposed to the storm, that looks like nasty stuff. Hopefully you can get to safe ground.

my custom Equilibrium FT 6

No offense, but I have to say that is one of the ugliest guitars I ever seen! I already have a visceral aversion to pointy guitars and gratuitous use of dyed quilted maple (I'm looking at you PRS) but that instrument really manages to combine all the worst tropes of 'boutique' luthiery into one spectacularly horrendous whole. Congratulations! ;-)

I used to have one of those little Steinberger Spirits. Nice little guitar and quite well built for the price.

And is that an Eventide H3000 I spy in the rack? I lusted after one of those for many years ...

Yes and yes, bought the H3000 last year and promptly had a power supply issue. Good time to install the HighTide update .
I had one at my employers studio and used it nearly every day, mostly television work.

Have you ever heard the phrase "If you don't have something nice to say, keep your mouth shut?"

Sorry! As I said, I mean no offense, but sometimes these things have to be said. It would be boring if we all liked the same things ...
