Should i get a DAC?

Hey all,

Currently i have a pair of JBL Venue bookshelf speakers (https://www.digitalcinema.com.au/jbl-venue-monitor-speakers-pair.html)
They are run off a Onkyo TX-SR304E receiver via optical from my PC.

Do you think i would benefit from buying a DAC?

I would be looking at something like a Topping D10, Schiit Modi 3, JDS Labs OL DAC or similar price point and then feed that into my Onkyo receiver via RCA

I don't recommend it. You have good isolation from the PC using optical. The DAC in the Onkyo likely isn't great but the audible difference may be hard to find. I would focus on room equalization and in the future, better speakers.
