I've found that after getting a decent nearfield speaker setup, my headphones have been just collecting dust on my desk. No matter what I'd do with EQ, they'd just sound dry compared to my room EQ'd speakers.
I got an idea from somwhere to use a reverb effect on the headphones in an effort to make them sound more natural. As of now, i'm using Protoverb by u-he.
(I'm controlling the dry/wet ratio on the plugin host)
I've set it to have just a flavor of the reverb effect on the sound. Plain speech doesn't sound like it's recorded in a warehouse. The result is very pleasing to the ear, especially on female vocals. I've used it for a while, i'm not sure if I prefer the sound of my speakers or my headphones anymore.
