A couple of weeks ago I finally managed to acquire an A122C to substitute my A42C, which was fine for a 32" TV but looked and felt "narrow" under a 77".
I measured it with Dirac Live on my Denon X3800, using a Umik-1 microphone.
This is how it measured:
This is how it measured in REW:
Used Dirac DLBC to correct it, this is what Dirac showed:
And this is how REW measured the above correction:
Now... this is how my previous A42C measured in REW:
The position of the speakers has changed, as the 42C was fitted inside the cabinet (with the backport plugged with the foam Dynaudio provides, something I have done for the 122C as well). But, if anything, I would expect the improved directionality of treble to have that measure higher.
Circled in green the old 42C, circled in blue the new 122C.
What do you think? Something wrong with my tweeter? Or simply a different speaker measuring different but fine with correction (as it pretty much sounds to my ears)?
