Recently got into discussion with a friend regarding objective vs subjective, and his arguments against the objective side of things:

"Sound is complex and it takes time for one's mind to sort things out"

"I think expectations often have a lot to do with what we want to hear."

By the end of the discussion, I didn't know what he was arguing for or against, but he's also positive that in a blind test he can hear the differences between $12,000 and a cheaper set of speaker wires.

A lot of people think that. So far, no one has actually done it. But maybe someday.
