Doesn't perform that much better than my A30 Pro with heavy loads.

A30 Pro outputs ~4.5V at 8 Ohms.
L70 drops to 7V at 16 Ohms so I can imagine that it will have similar voltage as the A30 Pro at 8 Ohms.

The usual 16 ohm spec isn't really useful to me since my Aeons are 13 Ohm and some amps have a really large voltage drop below 16 ohms while others are not as current limited (like the A90d)

While that is true, the volume control might be a bit better than A30 Pro. That was the reason why I sold A30 Pro, I didn't like the volume control of it.

I am just so happy to see oled displays disappearing. When the input on my SMSL M8 would change every few weeks, it really highlighted how poorly those perform in an always-on application.

If I understand it correct, as a preamplifier L70 has no balanced stereo input? If used with the L70 DAC, the balanced output from the DAC can´t be connected to L70 in balanced mode?

Looks like it does:

Acording to the info given at Audiophonics, those XLR:s are singel-ended inputs, not balanced.

Topping just released their top of the line headphone amp of the L family and the specs are insanely good: fully balanced, a tad more power than the A90 in all impedances except 16ohms, relay knob.

They even got rid of the massive power brick that plagued the L30 and 50. And all that for 350 bucks. Thats just crazy, not only decimates the competition, but also the A90 and A30pro.

But is it better than, say, the Massdrop THX <https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...easurements-of-massdrop-thx-aaa-789-amp.5001/>? Better in any way we can hear, that is!

When I look at the picture of the R2R relay-based volume control, I don't see as many relays as I would expect. This leads me to a couple of questions:
1.) Is the volume control balanced or single ended?
2.) How many volume steps are there and what's the step level?

Do you think L70 still has the issue with the power supply noise? I mean linear supply such as P50 cannot be applied with L70 any more. Or can man conclude a linear supply is not necessary according to the specs at https://hifigo.com/products/topping-l70?variant=43527235928303?

Can man say this L70 is comparable with A90D in terms of performance in every aspect besides output power (6W vs. 9.8W)?

Digital volume control is a great plus but appears to be weaker than L30 II?
