Musician Monoceros Humming/Buzzing

I noticed that the Musician Monoceros Pre-Amp that I have is buzzing. I can hear it when I place my ear near the device. It sounds like it could be transformer hum. The sound is not from the speakers. Is this normal or could it indicate a problem with the unit?

Try listening from further away?
I would invest in an ifi or audiolab DC blocker to kill the buzz.

QUESTION: How does this preamp SOUND playing Music?

I have the preamp plugged into a PS Audio Power Plant 12. I put an Emotiva CMX2 between the two and it seems to have resolved the buzzing.

The preamp doesn’t really have a sound, which is good. I am using it for volume control.
