Nothing original in my case, I just go crazy for round wooden cups. I love that look.

Unfortunately, a lot of reviews had some complaints about these.

I use to fancy Denon until I had Fostex TH900, man what a lacklustre built quality.

Downer on which side? I'm sorry I didn't understand.
I have owned HD600/650/660s, HE6, HD800, TH900, T70p, TH900, SR009&SR007 and Senn HD25II, Beyer T51i, B&O H4, Bose 700, Q35II & Q45.
Without a contest Fostex which are very similar to Denon where by fare the worst manufactured headphones I ever had.

These are the most beautiful for my tastes:

I find the HD820 superb, IMO, one of the most beautiful headphones around
.. the Fostex .. the least said about it...

How about these GDR classics? The HOK 80 was even a planar! Brutally inefficient, but capable to swallow up to 2 watts. Pretty decent sounding, as long as you manage to get a good seal. It's not very comfortable and quite heavy for its size.

The DHK 8 was only 8 ohms (hence the name). Lighter and more comfortable, but rather rough sounding. There were yellow and red pads available too.

Don't know the two on the right side.

... certainly not this thing Mark Levinson just announced.View attachment 176883

Looks just like some random no-name BT headphones we're used to see on Amazon/AliExpress. Except this one costs 1k.
It's a Harman brand, so we can only hope it is tuned to hug the HTC very nicely. And maybe it has some EQ options to tune the bass shelve to your personal preference.

I concur - I have had the TH900 for a few years and they are built poorly. But with EQ they sound amazing so I'll probably keep them.

Funny, I never gave the looks a second thought. I put them on my head to listen to. I have seen some with a wall full of them on display. To each their own. Mine are ugly, but sound pretty nice.

I think some of these are on the wrong list. Big, bulky, incoherent details. In other words, ugly. Of course the all time ugliest set of cans has to be the Stax Nearphones. They were so ugly, I could not even find a picture of them. Big square grey boxes as the speaker was actually firing past your ear, not into it.

Still, I don't see them as a fashion item and I can't see them on my head.

I am a sucker for rose gold. If only audio was a female dominated hobby, I could choose from a large variety of cutesy designs. :)

I agree, I do not find stax to be good looking at all... The 009 look eh but not terrabad like some of the other ones. Ofc just giving my 2c, if you like it then more power to you. :)
