Planning on putting actives in the living room, where there is literally no way to hide cables. It's all wood floor, glass, and stone walls. What's the lowest profile XLR and/or mains cabling you've seen and/or recommend?

Belden 1800F for balanced audio has a good shield, low capacitance, and is rather thin compared to other cables. I would suggest terminating it yourself or getting it terminated to specific lengths for you by a shop like Redco to ensure there is no excess cable length that needs to be hidden. Try using right angle black connectors like the Neutrik NC3MRX-B.

For the mains wiring you need to look at what AWG is acceptable for the current your components are going to be drawing. Probably 16 AWG for amplifiers. You could also terminate that yourself if you know what you are doing. Make sure you do if you are going to try.

For minimal visual impact I would suggest sleeving the cables and/or using split sleeving to bundle them.
