I have a small PC mounted to the back of my monitor which doesn't have an optical output. Using USB to my DAC gives an elevated noise floor, but I know optical will work (I used that in the same setup, but with another PC that also had an optical out). So I'm looking for an USB to optical converter that is as small and cheap as possible. I also don't care about high sampling rate, 48kHz would even be fine, but lets do 96kHz for the sake of it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

So far I've spotted this one:

I use the Douk Audio U2 to go from Raspberry Pi streamer to my AVR:

The Douk is a bit clunky and too expensive for my use case. That Hifime is an option, but also a lot more expensive than what I find for a bigger formfactor but probably better odds that its good.

For reference this is what my setup looks like, so I need something small:

I also saw this one:
(I'll have to order it through Aliexpress, Amazon.nl doesn't have it)
