From 1997. Bob Florence, southern California based arranger and pianist, wrote charts for Bud Shank & Sergio Mendes, for the Dean Martin, Red Skelton and many other television shows, and was musical director for Vicki Carr and Julie Andrews. He released about a dozen big band albums with his "Limited Edition", all of which are worth a listen.

Gary Urwin occasionally assembles a Los Angeles based orchestra, and he's released 4 big band albums between 2000 and 2014. The band usually features Pete Christlieb on tenor sax, and Wayne Bergeron and Carl Saunders on trumpet, with trombonist Bill Watrous on most albums. Their first album from 2000 got a spin from me tonight. Christlieb & Bergeron feature on all sessions, which makes them all a big band treat.

The WDR Big Band is a very active orchestra in Cologne, Germany, and posts frequent, well-recorded, performances on YouTube. This clip goes with a new album with Ronnie Cuber on baritone sax (RIP), Eddie Gomez on bass and Steve Gadd on drums. Here's a quick, punchy tune from the album, performed live in studio.
