This is my current optical isolation "of-the-self" setup - see below.

Have been looking for a comparison with Sonore Optical Module - but no luck.

Would it be wort spending 500€ on a Sonore Optical Module?

Improving digital streaming
What's wrong?

You can't really improve the sound unless there are audible defects. That would normally be noise, distortion, or a frequency response error/limitations. Or with digital you can get dropouts & "glitches" and with lossy compression you can get distortions that are hard to define.

Or you CAN possibly "enhance" the sound with EQ, or by adding reverb or something.

And:

Just another “reviewer” you can safely ignore.

>>>Home Ethernet equipment and cabling can easily introduce unacceptable levels of digital noise into your playback environment. For me, that was initially the big selling point of ethernet to fiber conversion – lowering the noise floor.<<<

OK :) But many audio users think this has added great value to their setup. All of them are using LPS in combination the optical isolation

It’s their money to spend as they like, of course, but it won’t improve the audio quality. It could help with ground loops, though.

They think these gizmos have added value to their setup, but don't care to find out for sure.
If they did, they'd realize that the noise that they heard before adding all this nonsense to their systems was just in their head.

And just like that the cycle of confirmation bias continues and the snake oil vendors get richer.

Hahaha, please. This make no sense. Plug your stuff into your switch and be done. There is no improvement possible.
