Hello,

Admittedly I know nothing about audio I just want something that sounds really good.

I have a kef lc50 meta speakers along with an sb4000 sub. I have it connected to my pc where I’m playing music while working and games when not. Essentially I bought both the amplifier aiyema a70 with the 10amp power brick and the wiim amp pro from amazon(receiving this tomorrow). I mainly wanted the wiim amp pro to have a high and low pass filter for the subwoofer

Also for a headphone dac I have an element 4 coming from jds. I wanted to connect my element 4 to my computer via usb through this synapse adaptor then goes to my wiim amp pro through rca. Was planning to use the jds as a volume knob and essentially hiding the amplifier behind my desk.

I understand there are discussions I’ve read that running it through two dacs can create sound degradation.

Two questions is this setup reasonable if I’m using the synapse to help reduce distortion coming from the computer? How valuable is the high pass filter to offload the speakers(should I just keep the a70 mainly for higher wattage, although I don’t need it that loud since I’m sitting in front of my desk)? The whole system is a bit overkill just wondering if my solution with pc—>element 4–>wiim amp pro—->ls50 meta and sub makes sense.

Or should I just pay extra and get a Marantz m1?

The Synapse adapter you mention appears to be a USB noise filter. Amir's review said the Element USB C input does not work for audio. JDS's web site says it does. So who knows??

You are not going to be running two DACs. The Element will perform the DAC function (assuming your PC has a digital optical output) and feed its RCA L/R output to the WiiM Amp Pro RCA inputs. It will help your KEF speakers to feed them a high passed signal since it takes the bass load off of them and let's the sub handle that.

It definitely works for audio from pc….

Should I just use the wiim amp pro or marantz m1?

My understanding any analog signal fed to the wiim is converted back to digital then fed out to the passive speakers.

Passive speakers require analog signals, not digital.

I can't comment on the WiiM Amp Pro vs the Marantz M1, but just looking at pictures of the backs of both units looks they have similar functionality.
