Hello, I have a Samsung frame tv with a pair of powered Vue audiotechnik i-6a speakers. They have XLR out, loop, and auto power mode. The TV has a connection box called the One Connect box with optical or HDMI Arc audio output.
My goal is to connect them but retain the volume control using the TV remote.
I don't want an AVR due to unnecessary bulk but I don't think I can control audio with same remote using just a DAC. Went broke buying the two before the economy tanked so I'm looking for an elegant cheap solution.
Will this work? HDMI ARC or optical => converter box (probably RCA)=> pair of RCA to XLR cables to two speaker.
I'm ok with no surround, room isn't right size for it, gonna set it up on stands like bookshelf speakers. I'm assuming the converter will be converting it to stereo anyways.
Two things I hope to make work is the auto power mode in the speakers, and he the remote of the TV. That way I don't have to mess with speaker power and volume toggle manually every time.
I know this is a tall order but I'm not an AV guy and the learning curve has been massive.
