I would like to purchase an open back headphone. My budget is sub $500 dollarsI live in the United States. I have an older pair of BD DT 770 pro 80 ohm and Grado SR 60 X ( Hate the wire). Reading the site these are some currently available options.
HD 560S $149
HD 6XX $239
HD 660 S $299
HIFIMAN Sundara $299
HD 600 $329
HD 650 $349
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Any standouts value wise? I listen at the desktop with an $80 Beghringer AI that Amir reviewed favorably. I listen primarily to rock/metal. Thanks

I'd scratch the 660S. For the price, its frequency response is poor and bass distortion is high.

Other headphones to consider:
ATH-R70x
HE400se
Edition XS
HE6se v2 from Adorama (frequently drops to $400 with EmailPrice=T in the URL)
K612

Best value would surely be the 400se, 560S, or K612.
The HE6se V2 might require a dedicated headphone Amp.

I second @staticV3 on his best value recommendations. I own the HE400se and the 560s which are both outstanding headphones, and have great sound stage for rock/metal.
