Floating backpack - could such technology be adopted for speakers/subwoofers?

There are acoustical benefits in decoupling the subwoofer from the floor to reduce resonances by various means of acoustic suspension, but usually much more expensive than production cost of mere "molded soft rubber dipped in a bit of snake oil" and arguably could have been thrown in free of charge for customers who would have them rather than spikes.
Other than that, I don't see any practical reasons for suspending heavy boxes in mid air, except for maybe a touch of "antigravity" for relieving one's spine in attempt to move the damn thing around during initial setup.
