Eltax MTR 1959: cheap 12 inch 3 way

I found this quite interesting 12 inch 3 way speaker:

12 dB Crossovers at 630 Hz and 3.5 kHz seems a little high, but how much can we expect for under 400 EUR per speaker?

Might be interesting to activate with DSP.

What a weird "compression chamber" for the (very cheap looking) tweeter - it might make sense for the marketing guys to talk to the engineering department before going to work just to figure out what they are actually selling.

I got this from Eltax. Bassreflex tuning is at 30 Hz (impedance minimum).

Seems like a good starting base for further improvement with a bit of DIY.

That I remember, the French ELTAX always offers a fairly flat response in its speakers, going down a lot. Of course, the quality of the filter components is low.

So that's a different loudspeaker in the YT video (PWR 1959) vs. the OP (MTR 1959)... ?!?

Yes, the PWR 1959 is the MTRˋs bigger brother with a 15 inch instead of 12 inch woofer.

Plus the PWR has those weird twin tweeters, so I imagine the horizontal directivity would be unpredictable. I would like to consider the MTR as a contrast to my Linton's, but unfortunately almost the price of the Linton's here in Oz.
