TL: DR: What's gonna sound better? 2 Jbl Partybox Encore Essential or 1 Jbl Partybox 310.

So I don't really know much about speakers. But my audio system for my car is broke and the car itself is too old for it to be worthwhile to fix. Right now I just have a 60$ Ion Sport mk3. I was planning on putting down around 400$ for Bluetooth speakers. I'm only interested on how it'll sound. A refurbished 310 on jbl is only 350, but I have to wait for it to come back in stock. But I can buy 2 Encore Essentials for 200 each (refurbished). If battery life and ergonomics I could care less about. I only wanna know which will sound better in terms of bass and power. Will the immersion with 2 encores be worth it?

Much thanks.

This site doesn't specialise in portable speakers really. I would suggest checking out oluv gadgets on YouTube who offers decent subjective (in my view) comparisons between differing Bluetooth speakers.

No experience with either but if I had to chose without trying them both I'd get the two smaller ones so they could be set up in stereo.

Hey OP, I did a quick Google search and it looks like the PartyBox Encore Essential are able to be paired using the JBL app to create either a stereo pair or put them in "Party Mode". I own a pair of JBL Flip 5's that I absolutely adore and used the JBL app to configure them as a stereo pair. The price for performance ratio is very high (imo) when used as a traveling stereo setup.

If I were you, I'd want a pair of Encore Essential's over a single PartyBox 310.

my feeling about these is that you're partly at the mercy of Harman who has a spotty record of app quality

but these are ephemeral products so....

Yea, that's what I was thinking. The only problem is the battery life, but they're just for personal use and I'm not usually out enough for it to be a problem.
