I do have an opinion about the TYGR
you set as an option in the title the HD 599. The 560s is actually a better option and closer to the DT 880 but with better sound quality and a detachable cable. Maybe you should reconsider it, you can find it on the sennheiser outlet too.I don't, but I did try that and no dice. I'm actually looking at some refurbished DT 1990s now for £275 and DT 880s for £100. The 1990s are more than double the price of the 990s but I don't know, it seems like an endgame headphone for a lot of people.
So how would you rank these options?:you set as an option in the title the HD 599. The 560s is actually a better option and closer to the DT 880 but with better sound quality and a detachable cable. Maybe you should reconsider it, you can find it on the sennheiser outlet too.
that's really hard to answer, because it depends on personal preference and intended usage. So how would you rank these options?:
true, the clamp force of the sennheiser is stronger than the beyerdynamic. For that I also prefer the beyerdynamic. But it's something you also get used, so it is difficult to judge on a single listening session. I got used to the 560s and really like them.HD 599

I might take a look at getting the 560s again but honestly, I prefer the sound of vanilla 990s out of the box than 560s and from what I remember the clamp force was actually pretty damn tight.
Awesome, thanks.I do have an opinion about the TYGR

about € 15.- using DPDInteresting, would you happen to know how much shipping would cost? As long as It's not rediculous I think I'd be interested.
Hmm ok, I'll ask a few more questions before I make any decisions if that's ok.about € 15.- using DPD

Does the reduced treble affect the detail dramatically or is the majority of it retained?
What stock headphone would you say they sound the 'most like'? Just so I can gauge.
What was your goal when modding the 990 pro in the first place? Was it purely to remove the Trebel peak?
Thanks for your help btw. How would I go about paying for this if I decide on it?
Cool, the DT 990s were my first proper set of headphones too, unless you count the M40x'sYes it does. The elevated treble is responsible for the 'hyper detailed' sound of the DT990. Some really like it and if so do not EQ nor filter.
At first listen this might be a reason to buy it. After a while that elevated treble becomes 'elevated' and sharpness (a negative) pops up which one cannot 'unhear'.
The elevated treble in reality is 'fake detail'.
Some hate it, others love it.
A DT990 without the sharpness or Amiron wireless
Modding reason was the broken fixed cable. I do not like the long coiled cable anyway and wanted a replaceable cable.
At first I decided 3-pin mini XLR (so I could use my DT1990 cables) but had 4-pin lying around and thought to make it balanced.
My first real headphones were DT990/600 (originals) and liked them without a filter. Now that I have heard over 100 headphones I can't stand the elevated treble on most recordings (still think it is fine with classical) so the filter is obligatory for me.
IBAN or PayPal.
You can send it back if you don't like it (shipping costs back and forth will be yours) and I will refund the headphone.
That may be the case, but were you in my position, which would you go with do you reckon taking price into account. Might as well throw the TYGRs in there for good measure.DT1990 (+ filter) > DT880 (+ filter) > DT990 (+ filter)
Fair enough.TGRS are even 'warmer' sounding than DT990.
I can only reply from my preference.
DT1990 (+ filter) > DT880 (+ filter) > DT990 (+ filter) > TYGR300
My DT990 is only interesting when you find the DT990 too sharp, want replaceable cable, are thinking of buying a balanced amp in the future and like the all black looks.
Lmao ok that's interesting, I can get the 560s for £92 second hand right now and that caught my eye... I can also get the HE 400i for £120... Thoughts on those? Lol.HD560S > DT990 (mine) > TYGR > DT880 > DT990 > DT1990
