Do I need Topping pre90 ??

Dear all,

Wondering whether I need to add another component in the signal path ! This is my current setup-

Yamaha CD-S1000 ( as Transport ) —> miniDSP Flex ( Analogue out ) —> Topping LA90 —> Rethm Saadhana ( High sensitivity speakers )

Having multiple input or a remote control to change the volume through pre amp is not a requirement. In this case, will I get any sonic benefit in adding a preamp like Pre90? Better Dynamics? Better impedance match ? Or any other kid of benefit I may get ? Thanks.

No. Each component adds its own noise and distortion to the signal chain. The Topping Pre90 has very low noise and distortion, but it is not zero.

You'd only need a preamp to manage inputs, add a volume control or boost input voltage. You don't need any of those things so you're good.

Nice system (I don't know your speakers though). You don't need a preamp, you could even remove the Gustard if the Dspeaker doesn't need it for some reason... the Eversolo DAC is enough.

Thank you for your reply. Removing the DAC is impossible. Because it's equipped with the latest AKM chips, which I prefer to the Sabre chips. At the time, the A8 DMP hadn't been released, which has the same chips as the Gustard. Also, linked to the Gustard, there's the Million v2 clock. As for my speakers, they're SVS Prime Pinnacles...
