DAC to AMP through RCA Question

Hello,

Quick question; so I see that there's multiple ways of connecting a DAC to an AMP, through XLR, and through RCA. My question is, if I plug them through RCA, will only certain outputs work?

The reason I ask is because I always had my DAC + AMP connected through XLR and worked no issues, but because I changed a few things, I figured I would plug them through RCA, but then none of the outputs I normally use work (XLR, and 6.35mm jack). I haven't tried the 4.4mm port yet.

I've tried all the output settings and nothing seems to work.

Am I doing it wrong or only certain things will work through RCA?

Thanks!

Don't know what settings you might need to make but very unlikely you will have any (audible, and probably only marginally different measureable) differences in using rca vs xlr unless some unusual circumstances, like perhaps very long cable length in an odd environment, is involved.

(ps always best to be specific about gear and connections)

The thing is, I can't seem to get any audio from my AMP if I connected it to my DAC through RCA. That's my question. With XLR, I get audio no issues. But with RCA cables, I don't get any audio on any setting from the amp.

Probably just a setting otherwise doesn't make much sense. What is the specific gear/connections involved?

Topping A70 Pro + D70 Pro. Got them today, but I'm using the D70 XLR ports for Genelec speakers, so I figured I would connect the AMP through RCA.

Before this I had an XLR switcher box with older Amp + Dac, but I thought I could get rid of it by connecting the two via RCA.
