Dac for lyr3 under 200USD

Hello,
I just ordered k11 r2r. But after reading more reviews and tests on this forum I think I will return it.

My current setup is PC-Modi3-Lyr3-Hifiman HE6-SE v2

What Dac would you suggest under 200-250 USD for the modi3 replacement?

The modi3 is as good as it gets DAC-wise. Sound quality doesn't get better.

If you want different or "better" sound, try EQ or maybe some different headphones. Different headphones (or different speakers) always sound different.

Agree with the above, no need to upgrade DAC unless you need new / different functionality. Sound-wise, your money is best allocated to new headphones or a good bottle of whiskey.

My issue is electric noise coming from PC, looking for something with separate power or better internal power supply. Looks like modi is not dealing well with that

Use Toslink to connect the Modi3 to your PC.

If your PC lacks Toslink output, then you can add one via the Hifime UT23, SMSL PO100 2024, or Cubilux SPDIF converter.

To power the Modi3, use a good quality phone charger, e.g. Apple.
