Has anyone done measurements of a signal chain after going through multiple conversions and documented what effects different filters have at various conversion points?

I've only recently messed around with filter settings on a SMSL D-6 into a FIR corrected RCF monitor(analog input only).
I didn't excpect to hear any differences but I'm finding a slow roll off to be preferable.

The slow roll off filters (linear and minimum phase) both have less ringing (linear on both sides/minimum on the back side. Perhaps that is what you are hearing/preferring?

That's all I can think of. I just didn't it expect it to be that noticeable.

I'm wondering if back to back conversions with steep filters compounds the issue.
If I get clear measurements that show something I'll be sure to post them.
