I just upgraded my old AVR to an AV20. Switching to XLR from RCA interconnects was awesome and helped me chop the Spaghetti Monster in half. I have a plastic grocery bag about 2/3 full of all the old cabling I removed. (Some of that was old Consoles being removed, too, so older HDMIs and other cr@p is included.)
As I plan to rack my gear, hopefully later this year, I went with slightly longer runs of cable so I can route them more intentionally. For know, I was able to just coil and bind them with velcro straps.
XLRs are the WBC Pro. I like these. Very flexible and the braided outer layer gives it a nice understated appearance.
Most difficult issue with Shelving units is moving cable runs over longer distances. Power cords are the biggest challenge, and those are still running wild behind my shelves. After that, its the Ethernet cables as everything is hardwired to the network. When I replace the Switch, I'll buy more precise lengths of Cat6a to fix that.
