Hopefully this will save someone some time.
My Blu Ray DVD internal drive on my Dell Inspiron 23 Model 5348 stopped recognizing Blu Ray DVDs. It will play still play regular DVDs with video and audio no problem.
Tried reinstalling drivers and VLC media player and Cyber Link updates….no worky
I hooked up an old Blu Ray DVD player (HDMI out and also Coax out) to my all in one HDMI input…..then press the button to switch to HDMI input monitor….video reproduced but no audio.
Tried multiple work arounds….external speakers, etc, etc.
Also tried video capture with HDMI to USB video capture card.
The following solution ($17) plus an old cheap class D amplifier using RCA input via $17 Walmart coax to RCA converter worked flawlessly with no audio lag.
I also have an HDMI to RCA converter, so I ordered an HDMI splitter just in case this didn’t work.
