This is pretty awesome, Epoxy can be a little nasty to work with and I wonder if I can get away with wood glue instead?
Consider this. PVA wood glue is engineered to interlock with wood fibers, which it does well. When one adds metal to the equation all bets are off. Epoxy shines in the bonding of dissimilar materials. Note that all epoxy is not the same. Strength, viscosity, gap filling ability and even quality of resin are all variables. There's a reason I recommend what I do. Perhaps I should write a little treatise on how and why I came up with this method. Stay tuned.
