Arendal 1528 high end speakers

Yes, I think that would most commonly be the case. But in the example of this video, the first thing I noticed and was surprised at, was an absence of any sign of room reflections in the mids and highs. Did you by any chance listen to the video? I believe it was a well-treated room. Usually, I hear all kinds of echo in these YouTube equipment demo recordings. Only because of that did I feel that the video allowed some window into the general sound of the speakers in the highs and mids.

All I can really hear in that video is the room the speakers are in, it's immediately apparent.

Okay. Well, I just listened again, and I again hear a remarkable absence of room echo. Maybe you haven't heard many of the typical YT videos that actually do have significant room echo. Pull up some YT videos of demos from audio shows that are done in hotel rooms and you will then really hear the room.

I do avoid such videos for reasons already stated, but I'd be wondering why youre not hearing what I'd consider very obvious room influence in the recording. Even on my junk phone speakers the sound feels drenched in room reflections.
 
. I wish speaker manufacturers would include active crossover and amping terminals as that would be worthy of the extra wire and effort.
To my knowledge, only XTZ does this. Do you have any other examples?

Seems like a very well damped room to me, via my ear buds. Not sure why the subjective difference.
 
Wow, was traveling so just had a chance to look at Gene's preview video. F3 at 17hz :p. Surprised that there were no reactions to that one. That must sound pretty epic and if confirmed with full review, I might be onboarding these, subject to Arendal providing a decent tilting solution for the center.

Monitors should reach even lower.
 
That would be interesting. What makes you think so?

Take a look at Arendal's website graphs of the towers and monitors. The extension is the same, but the monitors have a bit more bump below 100 hz.
 
Don’t think we have enough data to conclude on difference between the towers and monitors. So hopefully we get some more measurements soon with in room response. But I would be very surprised if monitors will go lower. As of now it is clear that towers can go louder.

Looks like, if you have the requisite power, the monitor has a lot more from 40 to 50Hz. The tower drops more, and more quickly in that range. At 30Hz, the tower is down 7dB, while the monitor is only down 3-4 dB. Strange.
 
Tower always plays louder at low end. That much we can tell from the graphs. That might or might not be relevant for particular setup but is a fact.

The graphs are not 1:1 as they use the 2.83V anechoic response. As a general comment, low bass will come in at high SPL, at least for movie soundtracks.

They seem to be the product for a smaller room.

Right, pretty much what I wrote, i.e., that you'd need plenty of amp but they reach lower.

But would be interested to hear exactly what is meant by “going lower” as I can’t dig that from the graphs? And pls don’t just say it’s the F3.

But interesting choice of design for sure.

With very limited data, we can consider quite interesting engineering: very similar extension for both sizes with the smaller one getting less SPL. That seems to be quite good design, to be honest.
