Hi all,
I’m heavily invested in streaming ripped music in iTunes over Airplay to various devices around the house. But, the Sound Check feature does not appear to work over Airplay, as it does through a wired connection to my Mac. Is there any way to get an Airplay receiver to read and apply the Sound Check metadata, and thus smooth out the volume of my streamed tracks?
I’ve thought of using Home Sharing on an Apple MacBook I have, which theoretically would apply Sound Check, but I can’t figure out how to control playback with the iOS Remote app. Would a Raspberry Pi-type Airplay receiver do this?
I’ve been struggling with this for years! Maybe a fresh brain or two could help me think this through.
