Usually I’m never impressed with Apple’s audio stuff, my relationship with its wireless buds was on the side I buy the new model, I try to love the new model, I sell the new model on ebay or wallapop.

But this time the have resist more than a week in my pocket, what has changed?

I heard something about AAC improved codec, maybe that?

If you have tried, let me know how you think. I was searching longtime for an open wireless IEM, this time it seems I got it.

Listening in this moment to Michael Haydn’s organ concerto in the buds, he always composed stuff but was many times attributed to his brother Joseph. If you love Haydn as me, think about 1/3 of its music was composed by Michael but most discs shows simply “Haydn”.

what has changed?
The tuning has changed:

Thanks for the link! I think also was missing the treble in older versions, also the 2k-7k region seems more controlled. I always was fatigued with the older versions. Violins and highs from piano, flute were too prominent.

I ordered the basic version, but I will return them and go to the ANC one, seeing the good results and not too high prices.

Post Edited: I always thought was the AAC condec what makes me unhappy with the Apple headphones, but seems to be more the tuning. I still find it not transparent with respect to regular chip Earpods cabled, but the little loss in details is highly compensated to the best frequency responses on the Airpods and its improved shape that leaks less pressure.

Have you tried the Pro 2?
Yes, sold it in 3 weeks. I cannot support closed buds. But Airpods Pro 2 were the less perturbing model I tried (Sony WF #*%^}£ I don’t remember the model that has my girlfriend, and Bose ????? I cannot remember neither).

Subjectively I find Airpods 4 way better in sound, in quiet ambiences.

Hope Apple will accept the return and give me the ANC version to benefit from some isolation in public transports.

P.S: Sony WF-1000xm4 was the model, at home we call it “Sony What the Fuck”, sounds very good with the LDAC codec
