So called Midwest, USA
Right now I'm watching on MTVL a 2006 concert by The Who at The Roundhouse in London.
And to tell you the truth I really wish I hadn't and I'm changing the channel.
I remember seeing The Who sometime back in the 70s or 80s, sadly I can't remember exactly when.
What I do recall is one of the most high energy performances I've ever seen. Daltrey started dancing and running
from one side of the stage to the other from the first note to the very last.
Now the energy is gone along with their voices and more I'd rather not discuss and this was 10 years ago.
Golden Years my Butt.

Same thing happened to me when I went to watch the beach boys in early eighties, but TOTO was there, and that made up for it! Then there is willie nelson who sounded like he was past it when he was in his thirties, but he did grow on you after a while.

Saturday Bluegrass Show
  • Saturday
    6:00 am - 9:00 am
From 6 to 9 AM on Saturday mornings, Cricket with Sid sometimes sitting in brings you the best in traditional and contemporary bluegrass. Great bluegrass is featured, ranging from the classic artists such as Bill Monroe and the Stanley Brothers to current sounds from the many outstanding bluegrass artists that are active today.

On the first Saturday of each month, Jim Strickland and Pamela Jo Hatley bring you Old Time music between 6 and 8 AM, featuring the timeless string band music that shaped bluegrass and country. On every Saturday the hour between 8 and 9 AM is called This Is Bluegrass in memory of the late Tom Henderson, who was at WMNF for many years and was one of the most well known and beloved bluegrass programmers in the land.

Listening to the Persuasions track from the Axpona coverage, I was reminded of this,

This is a brilliant album, superb music, beautifully recorded ... I can't recommend highly enough,

Picked this off one of Michaels posts ... Umm... Skrillex

I like the album but for the bloody reggae undertones, I hate reggae!

Oh and Michael, if ever I go to a audiophile show I will take this with me:D I will... Educate them:cool:

It's Finally Friday and quittin time to boot!

I got a hundred dollars smokin' in my billfold
I know I oughta save it but it's burnin' a hole
Right through my pocket and into my skin
Come Monday morning I'll be broke again.

It's finally Friday
I'm free again
I got my motor running for a wild weekend
It's finally Friday
I'm outa' control
Forget the workin' blues
And let the good times roll.

I got a little sugar baby down the road
She's sittin' on a radio and rockin' on roll
We'll dance up a storm and later all night
We'll be workin' on doin' all the wrong things right.

It's finally Friday
I'm free again
I got my motor running for a wild weekend
It's finally Friday
I'm outa' control
Forget the workin' blues
And let the good times roll.

Monday, I'll be hurtin with my head in a vice
Tuesday, I'll be wonderin' if I'll ever survive
Wednesday and Thursday, I'll be slowly tunin' in
Friday, I'll be revin' up my motor again.

It's finally Friday
I'm free again
I got my motor running for a wild weekend
It's finally Friday
I'm outa' control
Forget the workin' blues
And let the good times roll.

'Bout time to have somethin' with a bit a' guts ...

This is a bloody brilliant album on CD, wind it up as loud as you want, blows every last cobweb out of your house - SQ is excellent on a system that works properly ...

And since I'm in the mood, a track where the cover is vastly superior to the original - from Janis Joplin:

This is absolutely fabulous, the sort of track where the energy never stops, an absolutely blast of an experience - if someone claimed to have a system that could do rock well, this is one track that would I would put on early in the piece ...

I am experiencing this at the moment...
Love B.B. I got a number of his albums on the hard drive. 1965s Live At The Regal and 1993s Blues Summit AKA the Playin With My Friends release are couple of my favs.
