Yamaha MX 2 gain setting?

Hey i own the a yamaha cx2 and mx2 and wonder where i should Set the gain controls on the mx2. So gar i always had them at Max but i barely have room for volume adjustment on the cx2 per amp. Am i degrading the sound or potentialy damaging the amp by lowering the input gain on the mx2?

Im currently driving Amphion argon 3l and B&w dm6
With them.

It probably doesn't matter, and convenience is important too.

Generally, you want the strongest signal as possible (for the best signal-to-noise ratio), and then adjust the volume as late in the chain as possible (or as practical).

Lowering the gain on the power amp won't hurt anything and it will help to prevent unexpected "blasts" of sound.
