Wiim mini dac vs pro/pro+

Hey everyone, I'm a bit tempted to get a wiim pro+ during this prime sale to replace my wiim mini. My only need is really the dac upgrade as I can hear a difference between mini's output and usbpre2 I use as a DAC.

Is the dac audibly improved in the pro vs the mini? It may all be in my head or the XLR input is cleaner on the ZA3 (amp) vs RCA.. I guess I should test the RCA input with my usbpre2 just for kicks but that won't happen before prime days are over

The Pro Plus DAC is higher quality than the Pro DAC. So if you are using the DAC capability, the Pro Plus is right. But if you are only using the digital output, then the Pro is right.

Another consideration is Wiim's recent room correction upgrade isn't available on the Mini.

Edit: that table seem to be missing an entry for room correction on the various models, as noted by @SMc

Thank you all, I just read Amir's original review of the mini and seems like he recommended it only for the digital out, exactly my current use of the system. I will upgrade to pro plus when I have chance then, likely wait for the eBay used store to have some, I still can't justify the price given I can use my usbpre2 when I want more quality. My family doesn't notice I believe...

And yes, my interest in the pro or plus was to explore the room correction in the future too! That's a nice feature to have albeit probably less extensively implemented than other dedicated devices.

I have a mini and use it with the optical output. My needs are simple, Qobuz and DLNA. It works great in my bedroom system. You can get away for less with a Raspberry Pi using the USB output but the Wiim is closer to an appliance.
