What if we used dB for everything? A small dose of humor / perspective.

In the past I've often wondered why nobody makes a DAC or ADC that uses a constant dB step per LSB (such as 0.25 dB) instead of a constant voltage step per LSB.
Then I found out there are codecs that do that, used mostly in telecom.

Probably too late now, considering the voltage/step converters are ubiquitous. I imagine running a standard PCM file through a dB/step DAC would have somewhat disastrous sound. :)
