Upgrade from Arcam Avr850

I have had my Arcam for a while. I am thinking of getting a av8805 and a nord power amp.

Any thoughts on this or what to get next?

The review of the 8805 on this website was unimpressive for the money. I myself was headed that direction until I read the review. The usual alternative recommendations have been using a Denon AVR instead. They have Higher SINAD numbers and better “engineering hygiene”. Regarding the Nord—you can’t really go wrong with any of the hypex ncores.

Denon now has the 8500hA version with hdmi 2.1 upgrade sorted out. For likely even better SINAD numbers try the Denon A110 while it’s still available.

I have the marantz av8805 now and the sound sounds to me, flat and neutral. So much so that I turn the treble and bass up to max. I feel the arcam sounds better.
