TOPPING MX3s

To those owners who are using the MX3s with a subwoofer: does adjusting the Bass setting affect the subwoofer output as well as the speaker (and headphone) outputs?

I emailed Topping with this question; they promptly replied “yes” in such an offhand way that I’m not sure they understood what I was asking.

This is important enough to me that I might have to reconsider my purchase decision if the SW output is unaffected by the Bass setting.

Thanks.

Not sure about headphone out but the eq settings affects my subwoofer output as well.

Great to hear that! Thanks very much!

FYI, one or more online reviews have mentioned that the EQ settings affect both the speaker and headphone outputs. I just needed to confirm that the SW output was also affected.

How does the MX3 compare to the DX3Pro+ for strictly headphone use? Which one is better?

I've had dx3pro+ as well and don't notice any difference with my headphones

Agreed. Powerful and clean amplification for both speakers and headphones. Idles at only about 3 watts. Great display too. What's not to like.
Pop-suppression when de/activating the EQ would be nice

Dear all,

i have one question regarding drivers for MX3S on WIN11, x64.

Win11 auto install these drivers.

If I try to install the topping offical driver from web they are not recongnized as optional output in win/sound/settings?

I am using my own USBC to USBC (USB 3.2 Gen 2x2) on Motherboard cable.

Are these to things the same or can someone explain difference to me?

The MX3s is not in the list of ‘adapted products’ for that driver so it does not work with it. Just use the windows driver.

Ok. It is little strange, because I wrote to Topping support which driver i should install for MX3s, and they gave me this link :)
I am very satisfied wiht KEF Q150 stereo + MX3s + PC setup. Also Bluetooth quality seems fine.

I am still new to sound settings. What is diffrence between this to options.

1.) I set DAC driver output settings to max. -> 24bit, 192000Hz (Then i play flac audio files mostly 44.1 kHz and 96 kHz, sometimes 192 kHz)
2.) I set DAC driver output settings to standard -> 24bit, 48000Hz (Then i play flac audio files with higher sample rates then 48 kHz)

Kind regards

If these are settings in Windows audio, then it is best to skip them by using an exclusive setting of an audio player (eg Foobar2000) and you will have the same bit/sample rate on the DAC as the original one in the audio file.

choosing this option, right?:

Actually no, you need to select the exclusive option in the settings of the audio player you use (usually you need an ASIO or Wasapi driver for that option) and then it doesn't matter what is checked in the Windows audio settings.

i can read overall google results many these comments:
#Please note that this component is meant for systems where ASIO is the only available output method. It is highly recommended to use the default output modes instead of ASIO. Contrary to popular "audiophile" claims, there are NO benefits from using ASIO as far as music playback quality is concerned, while bugs in ASIO drivers may severely degrade the performance.#
And that one
#Asio is hars on the ears#

Regardless of that, if i want to install ASIO for foobar.
I just need this file foo_out_asio to be installed? Asioproxy is not needed?

I wont be playing DSD audio files

Yes.
You can also install Wasapi, so try which one suits you better.
