Already got the SMPS2000R for testing our SE800, hope we can try your SMPS next time :)

Hi all,
Following this thread with interest.
What sort of cooling would I need for 7 or 9 of the SE800 modules in a single enclosure?
The application is my theatre. Currently running 2 Crown CTS 4200 and a Samson S720 in a 7.2 configuration.

Hi, passive cooling is enough for SE800 modules.

Inductors for SylphAudio's class-d modules were not only selected for the THD+N score, but also for harmonic profiles.
Is this true of the latest FB-360 modules? If so please say more about the harmonic profile you target.

I think I selected it for THD+N for D400M P05 and FB360 when I tested on the variety of inductor samples, the ones installed are better than the coilcraft 10uH AGP/VER2923. (on par with coilcraft 6.8uH ones)

Target harmonic profile is that the H2 should be higher or the same as the H3 for FB100 and D100

Hello, I'm planning to "build" a quite large amplifier to power a 5.1 setup to be able to mix 5.1 movies/music at my own place

I am currently looking for class D modules and I am planning to go for 3 x 3E AUDIO 260-2-29A (80Hz-20kHz) and 1 x 3E AUDIO 480-1-29A (20Hz-80Hz)
3e audio modules are a bit cheaper, are sold at Audiophonics (I'm safe with a warranty) and have got a review from Amir

But I'm looking for modules with better Power VS Distortion, because the increase of distortion in higher frequencies scares me a little bit and might not match the quality of my speakers
The 3 modules needs to be able to produce 2x60W peak 8Ohm which is not the case with the FB100 sadly, might be only 40 clean watts? but I can get away with that

Is there anything that could make me want to go for 3 x FB100 (80Hz-20kHz) and 1 x FB360 (20Hz-80Hz) instead ?

I lack of reliability + performance data and user experience

I'm planning to use MORNSUN LOF550-20Bxx units for your information

On the other hand, I might wait for the new NCx122MP and NCx252MP + DSP2-114 from hypex but I'm not sure I can wait this long

Thanks, and have a good day ! Keep it up

Hi, we've already sent the FB360 and FB100 to ASR for review a few months ago. Although they use SpeakOn connectors, which Amir mentioned he doesn't have an optimal setup for yet (he uses his SpeakOn wires on high-power PA amplifiers). FB360 and FB100 have a deeper PFFB configuration, so we expect them to perform better than the competition. FB100 has been upgraded with all OPA1612 opamps, while the FB360 still uses a mix of OPA1612 and OPA1602. We've resent the upgraded all-OPA1612 module 2 months later, so Amir has to swap out the newly upgraded FB100 module over the old one (comparing old vs. new module would be interesting though).
